About Us

The ReStore

The Loudoun Habitat ReStore operates to accomplish three primary goals:

  • Generate funds to support Loudoun Habitat for Humanity provide affordable homeownership opportunities in Loudoun County.
  • Serve the community by providing quality products at affordable prices.
  • Preserve our environment by keeping reusable items out of our landfills.

How It Works

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores that sell building materials, furniture, appliances—and much more—at discounted prices. To accomplish our mission, Loudoun Habitat ReStores accept donated items from individuals and local businesses then resell them to the public at discounted prices. Profits generated by the sale of these items are invested back into Loudoun Habitat for Humanity. The ReStores help to cover the costs of land acquisition, construction and other affiliate operations.

In addition to supporting affordable homeownership opportunities, our ReStore also support a healthier planet. By recycling used items, ReStores provide an outlet through which the community can donate items to be reused, thus diverting millions of pounds of material from local landfills.

Loudoun ReStore History

The ReStore model was developed by Habitat for Humanity International. The International offices provide guidance to local Habitat ReStores, with each store operating as an independent community-level organization serving specific geographic regions on behalf of Habitat International. As a local Habitat ReStore, the Loudoun ReStores independently manages all aspects of the store operations, including donations, sales and management.
